There's nothing more comfortable and flattering than a well-fitting pair of leggings with the perfect combination of softness and compression. Black leggings are a dime a dozen, but finding the ultimate pair is not so easy.
Here I've compared 3 different buttery soft pairs of leggings at 3 different price points: Lululemon Align Leggings, Zyia Active Brilliant Leggings, and Aerie Real Me Leggings.
The Leggings:
Highest Price: Lululemon Align Leggings ($98)
The Lululemon leggings are favorites because of their soft barely-there feel. They have enough compression to suck you in and be very flattering, but not so much that they sacrifice comfort. These leggings have a matte finish and look great for a casual everyday style.
Medium Price Point: Zyia Active Brilliant Leggings ($65)
The Brilliant leggings from Zyia Active are very similar to the Aligns but at a fraction of the price. They are soft, moderately compressive, and incredibly flattering with that barely-there feel. These leggings have a slight satin finish, but still perfect for everyday wear.
Lowest Price Point: Aerie Real Me Leggings ($45)
The shiniest of the bunch, and least compressive, the Aerie leggings are also soft with a barely-there feel. However, they lack the compression that the Zyia Active and Lululemon leggings have, so the Aerie leggings are not nearly as flattering as the others.
Fit Comparison:
From the front, the leggings all look very similar.
From the back, the Zyia Active and Lululemon are more flattering than the Aerie leggings, thanks to that extra compression.
From the side, you can really see how the compression works. The Aerie does not even come close to being as flattering as the Zyia Active and Lululemon leggings and don't suck in my stomach nearly as much.
The Verdict:
All three leggings are soft and comfortable and easy to wear. They all are good multipurpose leggings. By and far, the Zyia Active and Lululemon leggings are the most flattering. They have more compression, so they suck in the stomach, legs, and glutes, which results in a more slimming look.
For the price, Zyia Active wins, as they are a fraction of the price of the Lululemon leggings, $33 less to be exact, and are very similar, having the same high-quality features and fit. Don't overpay for your leggings!
